Club News: This section provides the latest updates for
our members.
All members are reminded to be aware of boats in the
water while you are swimming and the dangers they pose.
In order to insure separation between swimmers and boats, the first 5 sunshades
(southeast end nearest the princes palace) which are all part of
the catamaran fleet beach have been made off-limits to
swimmers and signs have clearly marking the area have been
posted. Swimming in front of these
sunshades is not allowed since they use this beach to launch
and come ashore or beach their boats. Keep in mind the
boats as they approach shore are hard to control since they
must lift their rudders and dagger boards as they come into
shallow water. Swimmers are asked to move down
towards the new sunshades (northwest of the volleyball net
on the beach) beyond the buoy markers. By
limiting the swimming area and separating non-compatible
activities the swimmers are safer and can be more easily
overseen by the lifeguards; and the boaters can comfortably
sail into their beach without the concerns about people in
the water. The addition of the new sunshades and
extended swimming area in front of them provides ample space
for both activities to occur without interfering with each
other.

- Tents left
on beaches for an extended time is a violation of club
rules......
Campers are requested to please be considerate
of other beach users. Please do not leave you tent up
for more than the time you are using it. If you
planning to use it on consecutive weekends please let your
fleet captain know. If you are not sure, take it down
and avoid a warning letter being sent to you.
Also, if you are planning to use if to more than weekend
after getting your fleet captains permission please keep the
following in mind to avoid your fellow members complaining
about your setup:
- Don't use the best sunshades near the snack bar,
playground or swim areas. Use the less popular new
sunshades in the middle of the beach.
- Put your tent behind the sunshade towards the road,
we recommend at least 20 feet back so if you do decide
not to use the sunshade it can be use by others without
them feeling they are in your tent.
- Put things away when you are not there. HMYA
will not be responsible for lost items, keeping your
valuables safe is the members responsibility.
- Try to keep your area clean and don't allow garbage
to blow away into the water. Lets keep our beach
clean so everyone enjoys it more.
